Chapter 6, Problem 4AW
Program Plan Intro
The following algorithm is used to open a file, read the contents from it, display the contents on the screen, and then close it.
- • Open a file named “number_list.txt” with the “r” mode using the “open()” method to read data from the file and assign the object into the “numberInFile” variable.
- • Read all the numbers from the file using the “read()” method and store the contents into “contents” variable.
- • Display the file values on the screen.
- • Close the file using the method “close()”.

GirlNames.txt This file contains a list of the 200 most popular names given to girls born in the United States from the year 2000 through 2009.
BoyNames.txt This file contains a list of the 200 most popular names given to boys born in the United States from the year 2000 through 2009.
Write a program that reads the contents of the two files into two separate lists. The user should be able to enter a boy’s name, a girl’s name, or both, and the application will display messages indicating whether the names were among the most popular.
**programming language is python**
** must use a def main(): function**
*please include some comments*
i aslo have the .txt files but no wya to upload them
Random Number File Writer
Write a program that writes a series of random numbers to a file. Each random number should be in the range of 1 through 500. The application should let the user specify how many random numbers the file will hold.
* Please use the Python program.
Form should mentioned
write a For loop that iterates through a list of products (any number of products) that are sold in a store and prints them. [examples: fan, fridge, freezer, washer, etc.].
b) copy the code from a) and use the same loop to add more products(any)to the list. You must use list methods to add.
c) Copy the code from c), and search for a specific product (any), if the product is found the loop is terminated. Make sure to use else in the for loop.
d) Create an empty dictionary, then add 4 entries (the key is a word, the value is word’s frequency in a book). [example: {‘street’: 23}].
e) Create a for loop to access the entries from d) and print the keys and values.
f) Copy the code from e) and search for a specific key in the dictionary and prints its value. The program prints a message “ the {key} is not found”, if the key does not exist. Mm.

In a loop, continuously ask the user to type one of the names and display the corresponding birth-date or an error message if the name has not been previously entered. Use the information to calculate and displays a person’s body mass index (BMI). The BMI is often used to determine whether a person with a sedentary lifestyle is overweight or underweight for his or her height. A person’s BMI is calculated with the following formula: BMI = weight × 703 / height2 where weight is measured in pounds and height is measured in inches. The file is in the format name weightInKG heightInCM You will read the name, weight and height for 4 people from the file, and you will need to convert the weights in the file to pounds (note that 1 kilogram = 2.2 pounds) and the heights to inches (2.54 cm = 1 inch). The program should display the person's name along with the calculated BMI and a message indicating whether the person has optimal weight, is underweight, or is overweight. - Topical Information Use C++. This lab will give you practice using the String class we developed in lecture (as well as some more help with randomness and files). Program Information Allow the user the choice of displaying either a random line or a random word from a file they specify. Your menu should allow them to choose these options either from the number of the option or from the capitalized letter. For example, 1) display random Word 2) display random Line 3) Quit Should allow the user to select a random line display by either entering the number 2 or by entering a letter L (lower or upper case!).arrow_forwardMPI Lab Directions Write an MPI program, countprimes which will count the number of prime numbers in the numbers from 1 to n inclusive where n is a long integer. The value for n which should be set in the program using a constant should be 50,000. Each process will test its share of the cases. Each process should not print out any primes that it finds, but it should keep a running total. Before the process finishes, it should print out its ID number and its count of primes that it found. The master process should end with printing a total for the count of the number of primes and the total amount of time taken to find all the primes. Take a screenshot of the output for running this with 5 processes. Before submission, make sure you clean up the directories so that no miscellaneous files are kept around in the submission. Design a program that displays the number of names that are stored in the file. (Hint: Open the file and read every string stored in it. Each time you read a string, increment a counter variable. When you’ve read all the strings from the file, the counter variable will contain the number of names stored in the file.)arrow_forward
