Chapter 34.1, Problem 1R
Summary Introduction
To review:
The role of the cell wall in determining the direction of the water and plant form.
Introduction:
The plant cells have an outer layer surrounding its plasma membrane called the cell wall. It is composed of cellulose and microfibrils that provide strength and shape to the plant cell. It also protects the cell from any microbial attack and selectively allows the entry of water and other molecules into the plant cell.
