Concept explainers
To Describe: A simple experiment to understand the motion of a motorcycle with respect to a stationary object.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
It can be possible by a good number of answers by observing the motorcycle that speeding up or not. The group persons together can analyse this situation easily.
To observe the motion of motorcycle with respect to a stationary object, following steps should be followed:
- Set 10 people stationary near to a wall. Each people should be 15 m apart from each other.
- A digital or stopwatch is given to each of them.
- As the motorcycle crosses, ask each person to measure the time (accurate seconds) that the motorcycle took to pass through them.
- Draw the points on the distance time graph and also draw the best-fit line to cover most of the points on it.
- Calculate the slope of this line. If the slope is greater than 40 km/h (25 m/h), the motorcycle is speeding.
Conclusion:
The above analysis is the best possible way to know the motorcycle is speeding up or not.
