EXERCISE 1.1.3: Applying logical operations.
Assume the propositions p, q, r, and s have the following truth values:
p is false
q is true
r is false
s is true
What are the truth values for the following compound propositions?

Instructions
Try out Python while practicing logical operators. Create code that calculate the truth value of each of the problems in
zybooks end of section Exercise 1.1.3: Applying logical operations (a - f).
1. Go to https://jupyter.org/try and click on "Try Classic Notebook"
2. Wait until the repository has started. Then create a new notebook by navigating to File -> New Notebook ->
Python 3.
In Jupyter Notebooks, code and comments are added in cells. Before each each code cell, add in comments, in plain
English, in your own words, to explain each exercise and code.
• Be sure to have user-friendly output.
• Use shift+enter to run each cell.
Submission
1. For assignment submission:
1. Create a pdf of code and output. Print preview -> Export as pdf.
2. Save Notebook. File->Download as Notebook (.py)
If needed, rename file to use your first initial and four letters of last name as part of the file names. Else I might get
your files confused! For example: "imalik.pdf" and "imalikW1Lab1.py". Be sure your file extensions are pdf and
ipynb as the Canvas assignment will only accept those 2 types of files.
