Interest groups are structured groups which try to influence government to adopt certain policies or measures. The responsibilities of an interest group can be never-ending. A separation of power is to ensure that no one branch has complete control over the other. In other words, the three branches operate independently, but rely on one another to be successful both independently and as a whole government.
The constitution of the United States divides the federal government into three branches to make sure no individual or group will have too much power. They are the Executive (President and about 5,000,000 workers), Legislative (Senate and House of Representatives), and Judicial (Supreme Court and lower courts). These ensure the government is effective and citizens’ rights are protected, each branch has their own power and responsibilities, including working with the other branches. The executive power enforces the law while the legislative power makes new laws and amends existing laws. Judicial power has the authority to review the constitutionality of laws.
The judicial branch are decreed by the president and approved by the Senate. The Supreme Courts, Special Courts, and court support organizations are what make up the judicial branch. Article III of the Constitution gave the judicial branch the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is the highest court in the country. The court finds out the meaning of the laws, how they are used, and if it goes against the Constitution. The judicial review uses checks and balances on the legislative and executive branches. This branch is an implied power.
The Judicial Branch’s power is the power to interpret laws. It also has the authority to approve appointments to the federal courts. The president is the person that appoints supreme court and other federal judges. Courts can also judge legislative acts to be unconstitutional, and that is another big thing the courts have over the legislative branch.
The judicial branch consists of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. The Supreme Court is the highest court in United States. The Supreme Court is made up of nine judges that are called justices and the justices are chosen by the President and are approved by the Senate. The judicial branch is responsible for interpreting laws.
The founding fathers divided the federal government in to three separate branches allowing each branch to place restraints on the powers exerted by the other branches. To prevent one branch from becoming superior and to induce cooperation among the three branches a system of checks and balances was created. The Legislative Branch writes and enacts laws, enacts taxes, sets the budget and has the sole power to declare war. They may start investigations against the Executive Branch and ratifies treaties. The Executive Branch may veto laws and refuse to spend money allocated for certain purposes. They may wage war or declare a state of emergency and promulgates regulations and executive orders. The Executive Branch appoints judges to the Supreme Court and has the power to pardon convicted criminals. The Judiciary Branch determines which laws apply to any given case and which laws are
The United States government was created about 241 years ago. Within the Constitution, three branches of government were created; the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. Each of these branches have checks upon each other and keep the country running like a well-oiled machine. These branches interact with one another to establish authority that is strong, yet equal to have power over the country. Each branch pursues certain responsibilities and duties to operate in an efficient and effective manner in which society upholds. All interact amid each other to validate accuracy of the nation’s most powerful law of the land, the Constitution. The executive branch enforces the laws, the legislative branch passes the laws, and the judicial branch interprets the laws.
An interest group also known as a special interest group or a lobby is an organized group of individuals, organizations, or businesses who share a goal. The goal of the group could be focused on small group, such as the Japan Eraser Manufacturer 's Association; or the goal could be focused on a large public group, such as family and friends of public school-aged children in the United States. The United States Federal system of government has three branches that have different functions in governing the people. The Legislative, Judicial, and executive branches of government are all powerful at different times and in different situations. The framers of the U.S Constitution of the new US Federal Government intended that all branches of the government are subject to a system of “Checks and Balances”. The system of “Checks and Balances” are meant that each branch can apply influence or deny any branch with to much power.
First, I’ll tackle the reason for the separation of powers. Going along with French philosopher Montesquieu’s theories, in order to protect the liberty of the people, the government’s power must be separated into three branches. The separation of power among the branches made it to where no single branch could have excessive power. The system of checks and balances also plays a big role in preventing each branch from going power hungry. This was Montesquieu’s and Americans logical way of organizing
Special interest groups is a group of people that have a shared interest in a specific area. Usually special interest groups help the government. Special interest groups promote a range of diverse voices in government decision-making. An example of a special interest group would be RAINN (Rape Abuse & Incest National Network). They try to improve the criminal justice system to ensure that rapists are brought to justice. This organization helps decision-making in the government and the government can ensure the safety of victims. Special interest groups such as RAINN can help the government make better decisions.
