Jyson Ayala English 3A Mrs. Hargraves 8 October 2017 Declaration of Independence: Age of Reason The Age of Reason helped shape the Declaration of Independence by the way it made a man view himself, the pursuit of knowing things and the universe. The three main points are the equality, liberty, and individualism. The purpose of this essay is that the Second Continental Congress was developed on July 4th 1776. The thirteen American colonies were free of Great Britain, it was first drafted as a revolutionary plan. At that time these individual rights were unheard of "all men are created equal" and "are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights," among are "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” The thirteen British colonies of North America were slowly going into independence. The people (colonists) were proud of being British, they had no desire to separate from their own country. April 19, 1775 people made calls for independent. Also in that year of July the Second Continental Congress sent the King a request for redress and reconciliation, which Dickinson had to drain indubitably. The drafting committee left no records of its proceedings and the private notes that Jefferson kept devote only a few sentences to the subject. The story of the Declaration's creation must be pieced together from a handful of documents by Jefferson and Adams, most of which were written long after the event was over. Before
