Sorors, please accept my strong support for the application of Ms. LaMara T. Russell. She is a Senior Financial Analyst for the Executive Transport Program at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation and currently resides in Wallingford, CT. I have had the distinct pleasure of knowing LaMara since her birth in 1983. Her mother and I are childhood friends. She is energetic and an extremely competent young lady of great vision, depth, humor, and dedication. I believe that her membership would greatly enhance our sorority. LaMara has been very active in the community beginning with the Greater New Haven NAACP Youth Council in 1990. She served as the Youth Council President and the Treasurer of the Connecticut State Youth & College Division. In addition …show more content…
She was also awarded a college scholarship from the New Haven Alumnae Chapter in 2001. She has since supported Delta by attending many fundraisers, such as the Throwback Party, Masquerade Ball and Lobster & Crab Fest. There are also several programs that she has participated in over the years; Conversations that Matter, Delta Day at City Hall, May Week-Author’s Tea and the Health Symposium. I am certain that her involvement over the years strongly influenced her decision to seek membership at this time. LaMara is a very intelligent and focused young woman. She has obtained a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate from Temple University – Fox School of Business, a Masters of Business Administration in Accounting and Project Management from Albertus Magnus College and she is currently enrolled in a Masters of Science Program for Business Analytics at Quinnipiac University. At work she can be described as a Multitasker with a strong work ethic and proven ability to manage multiple assignments efficiently while meeting demanding deadlines. In closing, I am extremely proud and honored to recommend LaMara T. Russell for membership into our glorious
Aside from her involvement outside the campus, she is an active member of Delta Sigma Phi, Cornell’s business fraternity, and Cornell Finance club. By joining these organizations, she has not only strengthened her professionalism, team work and presentation skills, but also acquired an invaluable resource and support network.
My name is Tasha R. Chestnut. I am a 36 year old SSG with the United States Army. I am originally from Slidell, LA where I am an only child of my mother and father. I believe that this will help me be able to give back to my community and become a better, well-rounded individual. I am interested in joining your sorority because not only do you provide an excellent avenue for helping out, the sisterhood displayed by the ladies of Alpha Gamma Xi Sorority Inc. is amazing. I believe that I have a lot of qualities to offer your sorority as well. Not only am I dedicated and goal-oriented, I make plans well and already have ideas about how to invest into my community.
Sorority recruitment at LSU is a long, strenuous process. Rushing involved a week long of many hectic days starting with the first round, Ice Water. Not knowing
Being women of Alpha Xi Delta is a great honor due to everything this chapter has and is accomplishing here at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Alpha Xi Delta is constantly learning, growing, involving and leading throughout our community. As a chapter we are consistently receiving national recognition, creating a well-rounded sisterhood, and guiding our women to become successful in and outside of school. Our Alpha Xi Delta chapter is known for the outstanding amount of money we are able to raise through our philanthropy, Autism Speaks. Each year we set our goal higher than the year before, for our annual Step It Up 5K walk. With great efforts, we always find a way to accomplish this goal by raising a huge chunk of money. As a chapter,
The position of Panhellenic President at Kettering University plays an important role in sorority life by uniting the two chapters here on campus. The president should be able to maintain a neutral and supportive stance on all topics to create a productive counsel. I feel I could play this part to support Sorority Greek life based on my previous positions on campus. As a member of ASA I am currently acting as Standards chair, as part of this role I act as a mediator for concerns within the chapter and determine positive outlets to resolve those concerns. I believe these skills I have learned will aid in my ability to support the council. I have been a member of the Panhel counsel for the past two years and am very familiar with its operations.
I am deserving of the Liado, scholarship. I deserve this prestigious accolade, because I put in an incomparable effort to shed a positive light both on campus and community wide. With leadership positions across my campus, as well as potential positions within my sorority, I strive to incorporate the values learned from being a student and woman, into all my external endeavors as well. I use my Italian lineage, to guide my future, growing up, I have been instilled with the values loyalty, respect and love, and these have become these are the principles in which I formulate my endeavors. I utilize these morals in my positions as our college’s Relay for Life Event Chairperson, Colleges Against Cancer’s Publicity Coordinator, as well as Delta
Her obligation to the enhancement of humanity and continually seeking out occasions to develop her knowledge, impressed me. She served in a leadership capacity of the Social Work Student Alliance and had taken her position to heart. They were involved in activities to promote social justice in the local community, as well as globally. She also participated as a social work peer mentor to a social work junior student.
Alpha Epsilon Phi has exceeded the expectations of its founders by growing to have over 50 active chapters on college campuses around the United States. The values, beauty, strength, and wisdom Alpha Epsilon Phi holds, makes it a unique sorority. The profundity of the sisterhood bond is AEPhi’s best feature. The Beta Theta Chapter has embodied that strong sisterhood. I joined Alpha Epsilon Phi the first semester of my freshman year. This sorority became my home on campus. The other members became my sisters; they are my closest friends, the people who I always rely on and spend time with. I became a member of the executive board as a freshman when I got elected as Vice President of Programming. The following year, I became Vice President of Membership, the position I currently hold, as well as Public Relations Chair and New Member Educator. In the past two years, I have watched the chapter change from different people being currently involved, the size decrease, and work load increase. Running a small sorority requires an ample amount of work, however, the Beta Theta chapter does many tasks quite well. For instance, creatively fundraising for our two philanthropies,
Last semester, I was a new member of the sorority Alpha Phi, prior to its dismissal from our campus. Following the removal of Alpha Phi and the press release of an article that discussed the removal of the sorority, my fellow new members and I faced a significant amount of slander and exclusion from our classmates and other greek life members. Despite the disrespectful comments and unwelcoming environment on the campus in which I had grown to love, I found reassurance in the support of the 29 other freshman and sophomore girls in my pledge class. This group of young women united to be the rock each other needed at a time when no one knew the facts of what was occurring. The compassion I felt from these young women who I had just been introduced
For my college experience, my goal was to get involved on campus. I searched for organizations to join by looking online. I had a few organizations in mind, but I could not come to a decision. One day, my friend informed me that she was interested in recruitment for potentially joining a sorority. After she mentioned recruitment, I considered it and I decided to go through recruitment as well. Recruitment was filled with excitement and I had no patience of finding out my future home. After going through recruitment, I have found my home in Alpha Xi Delta. By joining this sorority, it has encouraged me to give back to my community such as raising awareness for autism. Alpha Xi Delta has a philanthropy which we proudly support Autism Speaks (gsu.alphaxidelta.org).
All participants were undergraduate students (X women, Mage =X years, age range: X-X) from a small, Midwestern university. Participants were all voluntarily enrolled in formal sorority recruitment. No benefit was given to potential new members for participating in the study as results were not given to chapter presidents until the completion of bid day. Each participant was treated in accordance with the APA ethical guidelines. Little to no risk was presented to the participants through this study.

Since before the start of my senior year of high school, I knew that I wanted to get more involved in school clubs I would be a member of. At the start of the school year, I became a member Spanish National Honor Society and National Honor Society. My friend Hannah convinced me to join Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, a club that I had previously been strongly tied to without being an official member. The club had little membership and stood shrouded in the shadows from the rest of the school. After careful consideration, I decided to try to obtain the position of treasurer for FCCLA.
After nearly fifteen years of raising philanthropic funds in Birmingham for various nonprofit organizations, I am thrilled to be applying for the director of development position at the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business at Auburn University. I know I can make a strong impact right out of the gate in this position and I am confident that Auburn is where I want to be.
Like you, we want to grow the Panhellenic sisterhood at Binghamton and ensure continued success for the Greek-letter community. Our procedures for establishing a new Kappa chapter along with our knowledgeable support team ensure a successful start for a new chapter at Binghamton. A key component of our strategy is hiring two resident Chapter Consultants who will work with the new chapter for at least the first two years of existence. Kappa has operating funds specifically allocated to ensure success from establishment — the time when the chapter is developed and operational procedures are established — through formal Installation — when the chapter is presented with a charter and officially recognized as a full and functioning Kappa chapter. The Fraternity will provide immediate financial support to the new Kappa chapter upon announcement from Binghamton’s extension team. Establishment Process In addition to the Fraternity’s volunteer and advisory support structure, we assemble a team of volunteers and staff who will oversee the efforts to establish a new chapter at Binghamton. This team — comprised of members who have expertise in establishing new chapters and working with college women — will immediately begin working with campus partners to market Kappa’s brand to unaffiliated women. Our expert team includes the following. • Leadership Consultants are staff members and recent graduates who travel to our chapters and work closely with local
