It’s not difficult to figure out that almost every book with a movie made from the book will have some differences and some similarities. I can almost promise anyone that they will probably never find a book with a movie that is the exact same. This essay will point out some differences and similarities between the book and the movie “Ordinary People”. The biggest difference in my opinion is how the beginning of both the book and movie are different. The book starts with Conrad in the hospital after trying to kill himself, but the movie fails to mention this until later on in the movie. I think this is a bad thing because it doesn’t let the person watching the movie know why Conrad is the way he is until later on. A similarity is the relationship
It is an experience of a lifetime to read a story in a book and watch the movie. The book and movie, The Outsiders, share many similarities and differ in equally many ways. S. E. “‘I’m scared stiff. I used to talk about killing myself’ . . . ‘I don’t want to die now. It ain’t long enough. Sixteen years ain’t long enough. I wouldn’t mind it so much if there wasn’t so much stuff I ain’t done yet and so many things I ain’t seen. It’s not fair.’”
Conrad even starts talking to Jeaninne a lot sooner in the movie then in the book. She helps him overcome his depression. Seeing Dr.Berger also helped him with his depression. He helps him decide to quit the swim team, and that makes him less stressed, but it happens at different times in the book and the
On April 24, 1967, S.E. Hinton published the book The Outsiders. Then sixteen years later director Francis Ford Coppola’s movie version of The Outsiders was released on March 23, 1983. The book is about a young boy named Ponyboy who lives with his two older brothers because his parents were killed in a automobile accident. Ponyboy goes through a lot of tough times because he is a part of this group known as the Greasers. The Greasers are a group that are known for being from the poor side of town and the Socs are the rich kids on the other side of town. Throughout the entire book the two groups kept fighting and then something terrible happened that changed Ponyboy’s life forever. The movie and book have many differences
In english are class read a book called The Outsiders, then we watched the movie and did wrote about what was different, these are a couple of the differences i found out. Darry Ponyboy's brother in the book and movie seems a whole lot meaner to Pony in the book. Early in the book Ponyboy gives descriptions about all of his friends and his two brothers, but in the movie their hairstyles are different. In the book and movie Ponyboy and his two friend Two Bit and Johnny go to a movie and in the book they were in an inside theater but the movie shows they were outside. Ponyboy had also said in the book there was no one there besides them and two other girls but there were a couple others there too. A few situations are also changed . Such as the rumble and how the boys enter the hospital to see one of their friends. The intro and ending of both the book and the movies are different. There are scenes that weren’t added to the movie. The author, S.E Hinton, and the director Francis Ford Coppola deviated which parts were not as valuable and chose to cut some unimportant scenes.
Did you know that S.E. Hinton’s first royalty check was only worth ten dollars? Although, The Outsiders did not get popular very quickly, it was eventually made into a major motion picture and is now a best-seller. The Outsiders the movie and book are both great works, but the book provided more detail and was just way better. Therefore, this paper will compare the similarities and discrepancies between the book and movie. Ultimately, the goal of this essay is to provide evidence that the movie was quite different than the book.
The novel and the movie share many similarities. The book and the novel share the same problems. A example johnny and pony run away since johnny killed bob.In both johnny gets injured badly and dies.
Ideally, a novel and its film version complement each other, which, on many levels, is the case with To Kill a Mockingbird. However, film can accomplish things that novels can't, and vice versa. Likewise, film has limitations that a novel doesn't. This essay explores some of the differences between To Kill a Mockingbird, the film and the novel.
The way there compared to each other as a ‘’ Which ones satisfying? ’’ paper . In the “ Outsiders “ having wad of money, fancy cars , rich parents who don’t care . To this people with not a lot of money but just enough, NO car, and they don’t have parents that they actually might want them to care for, but they don’t have that. Another difference was when an altercation between the two characters. In the book the character didn’t in the altercations face, but in the movie the altercation did. Him doing that is probably what set the character off the most. Both have the same qualities, but there just in different places The “ Outsiders “ movie, and book didn’t really care for it that much because it’s the exact example of how some people act\treat people today, and I don’t really think we need anymore reminders. The differences . The differences mean everything, they show more character between the movie and the novel the altercation between the two characters when altercation (one) spits in altercations (two’s)
The Outsiders book and movie were similar and different in many ways. An example of difference could be by how in the beginning the Ponyboy was jumped but in the movie they skipped right to when Johnny, Dally, and Ponyboy went to the movies. A similarity between them could be how in the movie and in the book both took place in Oklahoma. This evidence exemplifies the ways that the movie is related and the way that the movie contrasts from the book. Skipping the part when Ponyboy gets jumped and the setting in both the movie and the book taking in the same place are just some of the comparisons and contrasts between “The Outsiders” movie and the book.
In the movie “Ordinary People”, the Jarett family struggles to overcome the death of their son but lacks conflict management. Conflict management could have helped them to communicate and understand each other’s feeling to respond in a positive way. Conrad, Beth, and Calvin practice “silence” or “violence” by holding onto emotions and then later having them explode out of anger. The family could have resolved these problems by creating safety and contrasting emotions.
The movie had the power to paint a picture your mind. But it didn't have that information that the book had. The movie didn't have the explaining that the
There are many similarities and differences between the book and the movie. I personally enjoyed the book more because I felt that it was a more detailed story. In the movie many things were left out simply because you cant fit everything that was in the book into a 125 minute movie. In the movie, Augustus’ parents don’t say anything when they go down to the basement.
