However, for this schoolyear, I was put in a group with three other students, Emma, Mia, and Lucy, who do not share my same beliefs and experiences. Emma is involved in a variety of activities including numerous AP classes. As a result, she has trouble with her time commitment and I knew from the start, working with her might be a challenge; however, I hoped for the best since she usually tries to commit to her schoolwork. Mia is involved in with the spirit team, and she dedicates a lot of her time to both the team and to her job. Despite her busy schedule, she is in the top five percent of the class and hopes that this class with be an easy GPA boost. Lucy is on the volleyball team, and even though it is time consuming she prioritizes school before her other activities. Both Lucy and I are in the class because of our interest in science and the possibility for a future career. School has always been my priority and my …show more content…
As we had done with the rest of the project, we split up the report. I finished my long before the due date. I set a date for all of us to get together and finish, and I even took off work because we could no longer procrastinate. However, Mia did not come because she was working, and Emma told us to have a good time, but she was going to be at church. Emma turn in her work an hour before the lab was due. It was difficult for me not to do Emma’s part, and I cannot see myself procrastinating until the last minute. However, the important part is that the lab was turned in on time with all our parts. Since the lab was the only part of the project that was graded, it was difficult that not all the member in my group shared my need to perfect our work. I realized that this was a group project, and that not everyone felt the same way about our grade, and I needed to be patient with the other members and expand my thinking and accept other forms of work
During my first quarter of running start, I took intro to sociology and I had a major midterm project. When we were aquatinted with our members I took initiative to make sure we could all communicate and work online to reduce the number of times we needed to meet so that the students who had trouble with transportation could carpool with members of our group who lived near the college. We decided to spend a few minutes after class on discussing the project and whilst doing so I could see that a particular member of our group, Alex would doubt her ability to work on the project. I made sure that she knew that having her in our group was crucial to successes and that I am open to helping her overcome her doubts. We had conversations about struggling
I am originally from California I spent more than 15 years of my life there and I still have family living that lives there now. I have lived in a few states Montana, Texas, Utah and Washington of course.
In regards to my current life stage, I am a young adult and almost all of my financial income is paid in wage from my occupation as a lifeguard. As I am not a parent of any kids, my financial expenses consist of paying for food, clothing, transportation, and school fees. Therefore, most of my expenses are centered around myself and focuses on future career plans to eventually increase my income as I will be able to attain a profession after acquiring a college education. Presently, I have not surrounded myself with assets because I have not acquired my college degree or decided upon a profession; as a result, I would not be able to search for appropriate assets.
Happy Sunday , I hope this week started out great for you. I really like the way you address week one's questions. When working in large buildings, where there is only two way up , stairs or elevator, you are completely correct, you must come down. William, I did not think about it the way you did, making everyone feelings a part by add to the planning and assign responsibility will make them more receptacle to the evacuation training. Rehearsal drills are the best it allows you to see if a plan is working effectively, if you can't do it any certain time , their is time to make adjustments for improvements. I think the United State government has put more force on crisis situations since the 9/11 attack. Another crisis like
Team level – I often look for opportunities to enhance my team’s potential by offering training, support, and constructive feedback. I also advocate for my employees’ career goals by delegating different projects to help improve their visibility.
As the information system is designed, implementation decisions describing how the system will work are made. Data flow diagrams offer those implementation details, including data stores that refer to files and database tables, programs and human actions that perform processes. The automated parts of the system are differentiated from the manual parts by the human-machine boundary (Dennis, Wixom,
Once again, this week’s reading is very timely and coincides with current work situations. This week, it has become more apparent that the culture of where I work conflicts with my personal values. Over two years ago, I moved to the Boston area for this job and at the time I realized that there were geographical and historical differences than from previous places I had lived. I also expected social and economic differences. Being the newcomer, to the work situation and environment, there was the need for me to learn about the governmental rules and processes for how decisions are made. In addition, after a few times of being corrected, I learned to call Massachusetts a Commonwealth, not a State. For a time, I embraced the cultural differences and contributed any unease to my unfamiliarity with the area. Then, I started to notice some current organizational values that contrast with my beliefs. For instance, the organization I
Design has factored a great amount in my life. It has told me what to choose and what not to choose in clothing, grocery, and book stores. Design influences me in these places because it helps me to be aware of what I’m buying and what is physically appealing to me as a consumer. One time I was at the grocery store with my mother, and I bought 20oz Fuji water bottles for the both of us. While I was in line, waiting to pay for the water bottles, I started to think of why the company of Fuji water shaped their bottles rectangular. Was it easier to hold? Was it just a slimmer and satisfying design? Was it different tasting water? What made me buy this bottle compared to other water bottles such as Aquamarine or the Great Value brand? These were the questions that running through my head. All these questions are what company’s designers think of when trying to get consumers to buy their products.
My senior year has gone by so unbelievably quickly. It had been only four years ago when I first stood in front of the school a mere freshman. Throughout the years I gained a new experience that either made me a more global citizen or better prepared as an academic student. This year has been no exception and I feel ready enough for what’s ahead.
The last category scored a little lower. In the enterprising category, I scored a 58.333. The individuals who relate to enterprising are “the persuaders”. People within this category like to lead. They enjoy activities that are competitive and require selling and promoting. Additionally, these individuals are self-confident and talkative both of these characteristics reflect my personality. There are definitely some consistencies within these three categories.
Thank you for your reply and the additional information. I wasn’t sure what direction I was going to go in this week until I begin to write on the topic provided. It is just so many things that influence the economy, even the environment. Supply and demand pushes output numbers; however, interest rates and employment number have a great effect on the economy as well. Again, thanks for the input and I look forward to your posting.
We had to work with each other the entire semester together, being dependent on each other for our grades. One group member, in the beginning was not pulling their weight and would be working on it until the last second or submit late. I decided to ask if the person needed help, or if there was something they were not getting. As it turned out, he was unclear on some instructions and wasn’t getting the material. So I decided to help him out and invite him to my study sessions, and either that or bringing it up to his attention that he needed to pick up the pace put us back on track.
Nevertheless I found that it would do no good at the moment, so I quickly put it behind me. I had a project to complete, next time I am put in a group with others, I need to consider that others may not care about their school work as much as I do. I prefer to keep my balance from school with my work at home and all the other activities unlike some who do not prioritize their tasks and easily give up. At about six in the morning, I received a text back from both women explaining to me that they had not actually dropped the classes but that they had no time to complete their part on times, they were too tired to do anything. Of course this is where my team members and I also clashed in points of view. Work is work and there is no excuse to not taking obligations seriously. Not only was this idea inconsiderate, but as well as put them at risk for failing the assignment, but also the others in the
During my junior year, I was required to do lab for my AP Physics C class. We were required to choose a group of three people for which to work with for the entire year, and of course, like most other people, I decided to choose two of friends. However, during the first lab we did together, I would realize my mistake. My group members were lazy and didn’t have the most motivation to work. Due to this, I found myself almost thrusted into the leadership position within the group because I wanted to somehow make the group function properly. I had to micromanage both of my partners at all times to make sure that they never got sidetracked and made them do the things that they actually wanted to do. One of my friends didn't know much of physics,
For a group project, the teacher only gave me and my group a week to do an assignment that would normally take 2 weeks to finish. After he refused to compromise about an extension, my team and I dedicated as much time possible and worked extremely hard to finish. My 3 partners and I met for a total of 20 hours in 3 days. Blocking out time when everyone can meet was also very difficult (One of my team members has a day job on some of the most open days for me).We took one step at a time, making sure no one falls behind and that everyone does their part. Overall, We finished the project and received a good grade on it. I’ve learned a lot about becoming a servant to others and being readily
