Often times, teens ignore the nutritious part when they consume food, but that is why schools incorporate health classes to teach students about the importance of eating healthy.
People always ignore social issues like obesity, unless one has experienced it in their life; otherwise, there is no real way of understanding it and how it negatively impacts oneself.
Habits develop early and if certain habits are not changed, it could continue into one’s life to an extent that no one can help to break that particular habit.
Some people think children are being bullied for being smart, or for having no friends; however, children who are obese, face even more problems socially and physically because they are not able to fit in with other children and be able to do activities like other children who are not obese.

She believed if the foods she eats tastes good, then it should be eaten even more. She never thought consuming fatty foods could do so much harm to one’s body if one continues to eat those types of foods. Heidi never tried to research about losing weight because she never faced issues related to obesity in her life. However, she started to see some changes her daughter went through because of the fatty foods Heidi served to her on a daily basis.
The Bond family faces obesity
Dan, Breanna’s father, started to face some risk factors of obesity as well as some physical and emotional effects. Since Heidi never experienced the negative effects of obesity, she never tried to eat healthily or help another person who struggles with problems related to obesity. Thus, Dan understands how obesity could have psychological effects such as depression, anxiety, and even low self-esteem. He wants to make sure Breanna does not face those problems and struggles he did during his childhood.
Bad habits start
David Zinczenko, author of “Don't Blame the Eater”, began his career in nutrition and wellness not only by coincidence but because of personal experience. His motivation and determination for change has led him to establish a platform for himself in which he is able to reach many people comparable to him so that they can become motivated as well. Such platform includes being a regular guest on shows such as, The View, Biggest Loser, Dr. Oz, Good Morning America and 20/20. Putting his face out in the media, sharing his ideas, and thoughts about how well he knows about health builds up his ethos massively. A well known face and name, catches the audience attention more. Creating the audience to feel that Zinczenko is an intellectual person that knows what he is talking about. What also helps him to be more credible is his short story on how he can relate to children suffering from obesity. His main argument ties in with his story and his purpose for writing “Don’t Blame the Eater”. Children are more likely to be bullied if they are obese rather than a child who is fit and has great physical attributes, the reason for that is simple because of the inability to perform at the same level of a child who is fit. Bullied during physical education causes the victim to be embarrassed about their physical appearance and psychologically, they become too afraid to perform ever again so they rather sit in the sidelines and watch instead. “A year later, kids who are picked on are less active…” (Collins 2014), meaning that once the victim experiences that level of psychological trauma, they automatically fear the possibility of it occurring again, which is why they rather refrain from any activity whether it’s a year later or for the rest of their lives. Is there a huge health issue occurring in our country? Yes obesity is a quagmire that this country faces ; it causes many health issues and can lower quality of life. Obesity also manages to burden society, it effects everyone, the obese and the non obese. Although some extenuate the issue, believing that it does not to be addressed; obesity is a issue that cannot be ignored by society or the government.

Junk food will fulfill the desire of one for a short period of time. However, a healthy and maintained body will fulfill the need throughout one 's entire life. Therefore, is maintaining an unhealthy diet full of sugar and life-threatening junk the perceptive decision? As perceived, healthy food habits are not something that should be averted, thinking it is petty. In fact, it is a serious matter that destroys many lives and thoughtful actions must be conveyed immediately. Hence, it must be mandatory for YRDSB schools to ban junk food as it will reduce the high chances of obesity, cause students to stay concentrated during class and require students to stay active.
In addition to the adverse health effects obese children are also more likely to face emotional and psychological problems because of social stigmas and discrimination they may face from their peers, and maybe even their own family. This can lead to a high occurrence of low self-esteem and depression in such children (Braet, 1997).
