How has this challenge affected your academic achievement? Throughout my life I faced a lot of challenges. I had to overcome the obstacle that was on my way. The obstacle made me stronger and made me the person who I am right now a ambitious and hardworking student. The problem shaped me up because I know that I have to work for what I want and to not depend on no one, this made me more independent. Also, I learned from my mistake and try to do better. The first obstacle had to face are my parent divorce. When this obstacle happened I was depressed and not do that good in school. My aunt had to take to with her friend that was an therapist I only went for one day, when it finish the therapy I realized that my life is not over just for a dilema. I was more relief and more ambitious to do all my work and pass all of my classes. The second obstacle is that I would struggle at school is turning in my work late when it was due the next day. Then, I had to overcome it by, making an agenda to keep my work on track and test to study for the agenda really helped me alot. My last dilemma is that I would work during school because me and my family depend on my dad sending money when sometime he wouldn't send us money. Me and my bigger sister would always try to find a job to help my mom to pay bills etc. Another obstacle is trying my best to have good grade and study in a correct way. Overcoming these obstacles has made me a mature and strong individual. I am proud of what I have accomplished, even with the hardships that I have had to face and my biggest goal is to make my parents proud.
When I think of a significant challenge, the thing which stands out in my mind is one of the biggest change in my life which was moving to the United States. I was in 11th grade in Pakistan before I migrated to the U.S. I had to retake that grade. I felt bad to be one year behind, but later I started to participate actively in all my classes, but the change of the type of study was the biggest obstacle in my way to get educated and be successful. The most significant challenge I have faced was when I was growing up was reading. Reading is one of the most important things it was hard for me to say some words that I thought I was never gonna learn to read ever even if they were just small words or big words I struggle so much while growing up. An obstacle I have overcome in my life is school. In school I have to work a little bit harder than others so i don’t fall behind. My choice to try harder helped me to keep going.If I didnt choose to work harder and keep going i would never get anywhere in life. I think having to work harder than others pushes me to be my best and makes me a stronger person.
It was my 5th grade year where I first entered the higher ability program. Now as a high school senior, it serves as an environment to communicate ideas, discuss complicated issues, and network. It served as a turning point in my academic career. But without my experience in the higher ability program, I would have never realized the enjoyment of challenging myself through deeper thinking and hard work.
The obstacles I met over the last three years are grades and shyness. I learned to overcome these obstacles by studying and joining the class of 2017 club. These experiences will impact my ability to problem solve ahead because they helped me survive. Also, they make me grow as a person.
The most significant challenge I have had was when I first started school I didn’t speak English well; when I started school communication was difficult with my teacher and my peers. The year following that I was enrolled in speech classes to practice pronunciation and learn vocabulary. During the time I spent in those classes , I felt left out of the rest of the class. I would go to Speech everyday and when Friday came around every week my first grade class had Fun Friday . When Fun Friday would begin at the end of every Friday I was sent away to Speech. This affected my academic achievement by making me work twice as hard as peers in and outside of class.
Barriers are things that are blocking anything from being achievable. Dealing with the financial aids and time management will distract me from college success.
The hardships that I had to deal with in my life had to start with being born with Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). This disorder made it hard for me at a young age to be successful in their work as others, more specifically, in terms of reading comprehension and writing. With a slow start, it didn't really make me feel that encouraged with myself to speak and answer questions in class. But it really wasn't just complications in the classroom, it had to deal with my social life as well. I was really shy and awkward and back then really have a lot of friends.
Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?
Some may say that the only person standing in the way of your dreams is yourself, or perhaps, "The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself." Either way, this general concept has been the basis for the largest obstacle I have ever encountered along my educational journey. Having been a child who grew up in a home that was broken by substance abuse, and as a child who dealt with homelessness and foster care, I prefer to say that while these events are the beginning of my story; they are not my whole story. My whole story, or at least a portion of it, can actually be centered around the educational obstacle in question, which has been, simply enough, realizing my own potential.
Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?
that got in my way were huge challenges and somehow I had to go through them. In sixth grade, it was difficult for me to fit in, besides the fact of being the only brown girl in my class, all the other girls seemed to have different perspectives on everything, from me. Whether it be ignoring the task I had assigned to do or whether it be actually doing it. Just remember every task, by the way, is possible to complete if you put your mind to it. My confidence level has boosted sky high in the past 3 years.
