CHAPTER THREE
3-Research Methodology
The chapter contains the methodology which will be employee for the study that focuses on the real estate development and other investment multipronged implication to the sustenance of rural livelihood analysis of Dukem town. To do the study, the researcher design the descriptive approach which entirely focuses on both qualitative and quantitative methods to collect primary as well as secondary data using interviews, questionnaire, FGD, observation and photographs.
3.1-Research Design
A qualitative research approach, supplement with a questionnaire survey, is predominantly adopt for the purpose of this research. Qualitative research is

Both primary and secondary sources of data are use in the research.
3.2.1-Research Techniques’
The study will apply the techniques such as questionnaire, interview, FGD, expert panel discussion, observation and photographs in a flexible appropriate and economical.
Questionnaires
To collect primary data during the study, the structured questionnaires are prepared in English and translated into Afan Oromo (the local language) and Amharic language for the local people to understand the questionnaires and then translated back to English for analysis The questionnaires are both close and open ended to get more information in relation to the research objectives which is categorized in to three types, evicted households, not evicted but would be evicted in the near future and not evicted but would not be evicted in the near future or in the medium term are those included in the researches.
Interview
Depth interview are conducting to produces more flexible information. This is with professional from Mayor, Municipal, land management office, Investment office, Oromia central office of development-induced Dukem office, agricultural bureau and the developers.
FGD
FGD will be conducting with the elders to
The contents of this chapter contains the research methodology of the project. As such, within this chapter the outline of the research strategy, the research method, the research approach, the data collection methods, sample selection, the form of data analysis, any ethical considerations and the research limitations are discussed.
Both qualitative and quantitative data analysis approaches will be used in this research. Quantitative data analysis will be used to analyze the numerical data whereas qualitative data analysis will be used to analyze trends and relationships between the data and views of the participants obtained from the interviews and the questionnaires.
This Research Project Proposal is submitted in part-fulfillment of the degree of BSc (Hons) in Planning and Development
* The methodology chapter contains the discussion about the methodology adapted during the research process. The adapted methodology adapted on the rationale ground. First the research topic was carefully and analytically chosen. The selection of topic was the rationale decision due to two basic reasons. First reason was that the information available on the topic is excessive and vast quantity. The secondary information is readily
The methodology of this study is qualitative in nature. Qualitative research is interpretive and descriptive and is appropriate in seeking to understand social phenomenon such as that examined in this present study.
These questions would be researched and tested by administering questionnaires to the appropriate group of people and the results obtained from this findings would be explained and illustrated subsequently in this paper. This paper is arranged in this order. Section 2 to be the methodology applied on the research using a survey questionnaire and selection of samples to be used for the research. Section 3 is the analysis of result obtained from the questionnaire and Section 4 represents the conclusion from the study.
Research methodology is a way how the research is conducted step by step and in order. There are two methods used for data collection which is the primary data and secondary data. These data can be obtained and used many ways. The data is taken and analyzed in advance to produce a result that we can use for research and future reference. This study will relate to the objective we want to achieve and finding the answer to every objective we seek. In order to successfully achieve the objectives we seek, we must know
The study specifically covered the entire Mukono district. It basically collected data on all socio-economic aspects of the households, household consumption expenditure, access to means of transport, access to information, and on various socio and economic characteristics of community at the local council level.
The research process of interviews, observation and analysis took place between 3rd April and 12th April, for about nine days. Interview was taken face-to-face with all the individuals. Before having face to face interviews, two short survey questionnaire was asked to fill out by each of the individual of the team. This was a bit challenging part since it was essential that this questionnaire is completed at the same time, so that the findings obtained from each one of them is regarded as equal.
The aims and objective of this research is clearly stated in this chapter. The scope of study of this research was significantly mention and the limitation in carrying out this research is clarified. The details on research methodology will be discussed in chapter 3 while literature review for this research will be discussed on the following chapter.
This study proposes to use a structured self administered survey questionnaire to collect the primary data from the study respondents. A Questionnaire is quantitative tool for data collection. The rationale for using questionnaire is that it is cheaper, flexible and allows for replication of the research procedure thus enhancing validity of research findings. Being a study leaning on positivist paradigm Quantitative methods of data collection will be predominant, however qualitative methods can be used within this paradigm Mertens, (2005)
The research would deal with studying and understanding the livability aspects of social housing while concentrating on social network amongst the people who belong to the EWS sector.
The third chapter deals with the research methodology that contain the research design, sampling detail, data collection details, tools which is used in the study.
(5) Research Methodology Discuss the kinds of sources you hope to consult and the methods you will be using to extract and process the information you will be gathering in as much detail as is possible at this stage. As the project is underway you might find the need to revise your methodology. You must explain how you will be collecting the data you need in order to address your research question. If you are conducting questionnaires or interviews you should explain what sample you will be using (size, criteria, method) and also how you will approaching the people in your sample. You should also give an indication as to whether you will be testing hypotheses quantitatively or using qualitative methods, such as interviews or semi-structured questionnaires.
The methodology that we adopted in the present study consists of first our research site, then the population and afterwards the sampling and analysis method.
