2 WK8Assgn_Willis_D Family Assessment Outline This is the case of the Bargas family. Mr. and Mrs. Bargas. Mr. Bargas is a male in his late forties who emigrated as a boy from Central America to the United States. Mrs. Bargas, who is also in her late forties, is a Caucasian woman. They have three children together: Their oldest daughter, Amy, who is a sophomore in high school; a boy in the fourth grade, and a girl in the third grade. They also adopted Mrs. Bargas’ niece and nephew. They all live in a house together. Mrs. Bargas came to seek help from the social worker due to the issues with her family that were arising. Mr. Bargas's parents came over from Central America to the United States illegally. His parents were fleeing political upheaval from their native country in Central America. Here, they connected with a church through a sanctuary network which helped them gain citizenship. Mr. Bargas did well academically through middle school but had average scores in high school, having stayed out of trouble. Mr. Bargas, her spouse, experienced a stroke at a comparatively young age—in his late forties. Her spouse was treated at a hospital, and the social worker there recommended her to Southside Community Services. Mrs. Bargas has experienced a lot of stress in her life. She is dealing with her husband’s stroke and has to get back into the workforce with no recent experience. Her sister, who was a single mother, died and left her two children in the care of Mrs. Bargas. Her nephew is a boy who is now in the second grade, and her niece is now in the fifth grade. Despite the additional financial pressure, Mrs. Bargas refers to them as her own, as she accepted them into her family without hesitation. Because of their careful budgeting, Mrs. Bargas's part-time job, and Mr. Bargas's rather high pay from his long career and managerial role at the auto repair shop, the Bargases had been
