Nina Agwu Brother Mark Richins New Testament – REL 211 February 21, 2024 W07 Directed Study Prompt – Instructions 1. Prepare by first completing this week's assigned readings. o Luke 10-14 2. Identify three principles from this week's scripture readings that are most powerful to you. Write these principles down in a separate document, along with the reference(s) to the scripture(s) that teach these principles. You will be graded on your ability to identify significant principles in the reading. Your submission should look something like this. Name:______________________________ Week:__________ o If you judge another, then you condemn yourself. Romans 2:1 o One person can have a great impact on many. Romans 5:19 o Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Romans 8:39 Principle #1: Serving others is something that is important to do as a disciple of Christ. Doing so out of the kindness of our hearts with true intent is even more important. Jesus sends out his own disciples to heal the sick and teach the gospel to emphasize on this fact. Luke 10. Principle #2: Praying regularly to God and Jesus Christ is vital to creating a strong and stable relationship with Thee. In this chapter, Jesus teaches the significance of approaching prayer as something with upmost humility, repentance, thankfulness, and reverence. Luke 11. Principle #3: Prioritize spiritual values instead of material values. In our world today, it can be so easy to confuse true values with spiritual needs with materialistic needs. To be frank, materialistic needs are not needs, but desires. Jesus addressed his disciples to be weary of worldly riches and to first seek the kingdom of God. Luke 12.
