Discussion 10.2: Too Legit to Quit! 1. SELECT any two (of the seven) Errors Affecting Truth (pp. 189-193 in the Art of Thinking). LABEL each of the selected Errors Affecting Truth when they are used in the argument. 2. COMPOSE a 5-7 sentence persuasive argument for the following topic:  The green crayon is the best crayon in the box. 3. PROVIDE a Legitimate Conclusion. LABEL the Legitimate Conclusion. When you reply to two other students, CRITIQUE the use of the student's two selected Errors Affecting Truth and DETERMINE if the conclusion is legitimate or illegitimate. The green crayon is the best crayon in the box because it is one of the eight original crayons ever released. If you don’t think that it’s the best crayon in the box, then you must not know much about the color green. (Either/Or Thinking) Did you know there is no green pigment in green eyes and it is one of the rarest eye colors in the world? (Haller, K, 2020) Most people see the color green as being positive and most people color with green crayons when they are a kid. (Overgeneralizing) Since people see green more than any other color. (Premise) And since the best way to color is with a crayon. (Premise) Then the green crayon is the best crayon in the box. (Legitimate Conclusion) References: Haller, K.
