The case study assigned was about a study on long-term care facilities and pressure ulcer case study. The steps used 1. Create a multisite, multidisciplinary PC. In the description in chapter 3 it states step one requires “(a) identifies outcomes of interest, (b) identifies individual components of the
care process, (c) creates a common intervention vocabulary and dictionary, (d) identifies key patient characteristics and risk factors, (e) proposes hypotheses for testing, and (f) participates in data collection, analyses, and dissemination of findings. The PCT builds on theoretical understanding, research evidence to date, existing guidelines, and clinical expertise and experience about factors that may influence outcomes. This basically means that information and documentation were gathered to prepare for the study. In the study it states that “Research findings were used to develop PrU prevention protocols that included standardized documentation of important data elements and CDS tools.(Adv Skin Wound Care. 2011;)
