Concept: Childhood obesity is a disease that causes more issues for the child such as asthma, type 2 diabetes, and cardiometabolic diseases (Fang et al., 2019). Concept: Adverse childhood experiences lead to children becoming susceptible to obesity and adult diabetes (Chu & Chu, 2021). Concept: Family stressors which are offput onto the child are seen as adverse effects which place children at an increased risk of obesity (Chu & Chu, 2021). Concept: Family influences such as maternal and paternal BMI have effects on children’s BMI (Fang et al., 2019). Relational statement: Caregivers influence a childs risk of obesity Relational statement: Including family members will likely increase chances of change in participants Concept: Including caregivers in the child’s intervention for childhood obesity will decrease the likelihood of continued obesity while decreasing the child BMI, as well as those who participate (Fang et al., 2019). Concept: Early interventions which acknowledge both the adverse event and help the child mentally will prevent obesity to continue into adulthood (Chu & Chu, 2021). Relational Statement: early intervention for childhood obesity will decrease the chances of continued obesity
