Translational research can produce results that directly impact and benefit the community. As translational research progresses, the goal is to move traditional research discoveries into practice quickly and efficiently (Singaram et al., 2022). Using the Grand Canyon University (GCU) Library databases found in the Nursing & Health Sciences Guide, I decided to look through several of the databases as I have traditionally used the journal search feature in the library without going to the specific databases for Nursing & Health Scienses. After review of PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, and Joanna Briggs Institute EBP, I used translational research articles on diabetes I located in the CINAHL database. Phad et al. (2019) article focuses on methods to advance research into practice by ensuring equitable benefits from scientific evidence. This study utilized concept mapping and input from diabetes researchers and public health practitioners. The steps used for the concept mapping were identifying stakeholders who developed a focus prompt, brainstorming for idea generation, structuring of ideas, and data analysis to create a cluster map. The concept mapping provided a visual representation for planning and evaluation to inform the current state and refine the future path of diabetes translational research to assist in the equity of diabetes prevention and control (Phad et al., 2019). This study was phase T1, Translation to Humans, as key stakeholders evaluated fundamental scientific discoveries and found ways to implement them into human healthcare (Zarbin, 2020).
