The Air Force Museum Foundation has commissioned the purchase of 16 Four F Sixes, pre-World War II aircraft. They will
be built completely from scratch to the exact specifications used for the originals. As further authentication, the aircraft will
be made using the technology and manufacturing processes available when the originals were built. Each of the 16

Easy Moving, a moving company, is seeking outside advice from a consultant (you) about the appropriate selection measures to use to analyze job candidates. The position that the company most often hires for is a Driver/Mover. Individuals in this job must be able to drive long hours, and lift and carry heavy objects for long periods of time. When people are moving from one home to another they contact Easy Moving to take care of relocating all of their belongings. The people responsible for the move are the Drivers/Movers.
Because driving a truck is an essential function of the job, individuals must not only be physically capable of driving, but also must have an impeccable driving record. Driving a truck can be considered a safety hazard if the individuals were not in the right frame of mind to be a good driver. Easy Moving should keep these things in mind when analyzing applicants. Additionally, individuals applying for a Driver/Mover position with Easy Moving must have the physical…

Arnie Armstrong has been with Pierce Auto Parts Manufacturing Company for 23 years. Recently, he was appointed Director of Manufacturing Computer Services. He argues that excess data is distracting, unused, and expensive to provide.
Willy McClean has been department manager for 12 years. Your team has been assigned to complete 10 client projects over the next two months. These
projects and their processing times (time taken to complete a project once started, in days) are
described in the table below. In addition, each project has a due-date that has been set by your
internal marketing team so that the customers will be delighted with your service if you complete the
project by the due-date. However, your team has only enough resources to pursue exactly one
project at any given time. Once started, a project is worked through its completion and is not
interrupted. As a result of the sequence in which you choose to handle projects, each project will
either be on time, or late if it is completed past the due date. If a project is late, the amount of time
by which it misses its due-date is called its tardiness. The objective is to pick the sequence in which to
complete the projects so as to minimize the total tardiness in the schedule.
What is the minimum total tardiness…

You will not be able to start the assignment until you understand what we mean by “research” in Introduction to Research, as you have probably understood the concept differently in previous modules and assignments.
You will create a short, catchy title for the proposed research and describe the background and context in which the research would take place. You will need to formulate and present the research problem in such a way that the reader understands why this research is worth doing and why it is a manageable, specific problem that has not been researched before. This will require additional study and extensive reading. A small generator burns two types of fuel – low sulfur and high sulfur – to produce electricity. For one hour, each gallon of low sulfur emits 3 units of sulfur dioxide, generates 4 kilowatts electricity, and cost P600. Each gallon of high sulfur emits 5 units of sulfur dioxide, generates 4 kilowatts, and costs P500. The Environmental Protection Agency insists that the maximum amount of sulfur dioxide that can be emitted per hour is 15 units. Suppose that at least 16 kilowatts must be generated per hour, how many gallons of low sulfur and how many gallons of high sulfur must be utilized per hour to minimize the cost of fuel?

Marketing person will first discuss with you promotions and new offers (this time will be normally distributed with average 10 minutes and standard deviation 2 minutes) and then transfer you to a new representative, who will, again be from one of the three departments with equal probability. Roshaun is a shipping manager for a company called “Soy to the World” that makes and sells soy candles. The soy candles are made in the company’s production area: mixed by hand and poured into glass jars, labelled, and moved to the shipping department to be sent out all over the country.
Customers are usually individuals who find out about the candles from social media. They mostly order small numbers of candles at one time. Sometimes, though, companies order larger amounts of candles to be shipped as a single order.
Roshaun’s team consists of eight people who pack and ship orders. Orders arrive via email to the shipping clerk who creates and prints labels, and passes the order to the shipping team that packs the candles into boxes and applies the label. Then the clerk calls an express shipping company to pick up the candles.
Roshaun’s team takes such good care of packing each shipment that they have a record of no shipments ever being returned for…

So, he searched the internet for commercially available solutions. Based on good reviews, he decided to purchase a web-based software product that runs in any browser on any device, connects to databases via open standard Application Programming Interfaces(APIs), and supports charts, watchlists, and analytics. He plans to subscribe to an online investment service, input financial data from the company database, play "what if" investment games using the built-in charts and analytics, and then update the company system to reflect the final decisions.
