Sadi or Saadi.
 
A Persian poet styled the “nightingale of thousand songs,” and “one of the four monarchs of eloquence.” His poems are the Gulistan or Garden of Roses, the Bostan or Garden of Fruits, and the Pend-Nameh, a moral poem. He is admired for his sententious march. (1184–1263.)   1
