stamen, stamina (nn.)

The regular -s plural for stamen, “the pollen-producing part of a flower,” is stamens. Stamina, the Latin plural of stamen, meaning “a thread in the warp of human life spun by the Fates,” is a singular English noun, meaning “endurance.” Both words are Standard, from the same etymon. See FOREIGN PLURALS.  1
