Pygmy (n.), pygmy, pigmy (adj., n.)

The more common spelling of the word is pygmy, and when the African peoples are referred to, the word is usually capitalized. The adjective also has extended meanings, applied to anything very small in comparison to more usual examples: The dik-dik is any of several African pygmy antelopes.  1
