| Acclamation is related to acclaim and means being accorded applause, approval, or cheers; He was elected by acclamation. Acclimation is a noun made from the verb acclimate, meaning to get adjusted to a climate or an environment or adapt to new circumstances; acclimation means such an adjustment or adaptation, as in After weeks of feeling chilled, they finally achieved acclimation to the cold.
