nite (n.)

is a Nonstandard but popular variant spelling of night, apparently used for humor, for attention-getting, for eye dialect in certain kinds of literature, and possibly for brevity in Informal writing, as in nite light [or lite] and nite club. Today, it’s neither very fresh nor very funny.  1
