| uptight (adj.) |
| |
| |
| is probably a slang term, but at least one dictionary considers it Standard; it means angry, nervous, unbendingly conventional, tense, irritable, as in She was uptight when the contest began, but shes always been an uptight sort of person. Best advice: dont use uptight in Oratorical or Formal contexts. | 1 |
