untimely (adv., adj.)
 
 
The adjective means “unexpected, premature,” as in His was an untimely death, and “unwelcome or inopportune,” as in Her arrival was awkwardly untimely. The adverb has similar meanings, as in She died untimely, and He entered the room untimely, and everyone was embarrassed. All these uses are Standard. See FRIENDLY.  1
