| Unsolvable and insolvable are synonyms; both mean not susceptible of being solved: It was one of those unsolvable [insolvable] problems. Insoluble has two meanings: cannot be dissolved, as in These crystals are insoluble in water, and not susceptible of solving, so that an unsolvable or insolvable problem can also be an insoluble problem. All three are Standard in this meaning, as is insoluble in its first sense. | 1 |
