X-rated (adj.)
is the unofficial label attached to motion pictures deemed unsuitable for those under seventeen and likely to be offensive to others, because of sexual, violent, and other explicit content, including X-rated (that is, obscene) language. The term is Standard in its literal sense, but figuratively used it is not suitable for most Oratorical or Formal contexts.
