is the unofficial label attached to motion pictures deemed unsuitable for those under seventeen and likely to be offensive to others, because of sexual, violent, and other explicit content, including X-rated (that is, obscene) language. The term is Standard in its literal sense, but figuratively used it is not suitable for most Oratorical or Formal contexts.  1
