thrill (v.), thrilled (adj.)
The verb thrill is both transitive, as in The news thrilled us, and intransitive, when it combines with the prepositions at or to: We thrilled at the news. I thrilled to the sound of the band. The participial adjective combines with by, at, and with, as in We were thrilled by [at, with] his announcement, and with to plus an infinitive, as in She was thrilled to learn that she had won.
