Hebrew (n.)
is the name of the language, and the plural is the name of the people of Abraham and Moses, but the term for the modern Jewish person is Jew and for the people, Jews. Used to refer to a person, the term Hebrew may come across as a slur or as an ill-advised genteelism. See also ETHNIC SLURS AND TERMS OF ETHNIC OPPROBRIUM.
