bight, bite, byte (nn.)
A bight is a loop or curve in a piece of rope, the course of a river, or the curve of a bay; a bite is a chunk or piece or mouthful, such as might be cut out with the teeth. Byte is a computer term meaning “a string of eight bits,” a basic unit of information in digital computing. They are homophones.
