suffice (v.)

The verb suffice has a Formal ring, whether in a subjunctive, as in Let this answer suffice for now and Suffice it to say, I can no longer assist you; a conditional using an auxiliary, as in Should your present medication suffice, I’ll be pleased, or a future with will, as in These funds will suffice for the next few days. When a less stilted tone would be better, try This answer ought to serve or This answer should do for now.  1
