homogeneous, homogenous (adjs.)

Homogeneous (pronounced ho-mo-JEEN-yuhs) means “of the same kind or structure, of like composition”: It was a homogeneous community, its members holding remarkably similar values. Homogenous (pronounced ho-MAH-jen-uhs or huh-MAH-jen-uhs) means “similar in makeup because similar in descent”: These animals are homogenous, as their similar physiology makes clear. The antonyms are, respectively, heterogeneous and heterogenous.  1
