shade, blind (nn.)
These devices for blocking light and providing privacy at windows have different regional names in English. Some Americans call the pull-down, cloth-on-a-roller device a shade; some call it a blind. (The British stick pretty much to blinds.) Americans have many compound names for the various types: roller shades, Venetian blinds, Roman shades or Roman blinds, and bamboo shades or bamboo blinds, for example.
