is used in combinations with about, for, over, and with, to mean “worry, uncertainty, interest, or fear”: My concern is about meeting my deadline. His concern was for [over] his mother’s safety. Our study’s concerns were with injuries resulting from industrial accidents. It combines with in to mean “interest or involvement”: Our concern is in budgetary matters. See PROPOSAL.  1
