sound (adv., adj.), soundly (adv.)

Sound is both adjective (a sound sleep) and flat adverb (sound asleep). Soundly is the regular adverbial form (Our team beat them soundly). To sleep sound, like to sleep tight, is a Standard American idiom; to sleep soundly is also Standard, but to sleep tightly of course doesn’t work—only tight is idiomatic there.  1
