sew (v.)
This verb is for needlework, not planting. The principal parts are sew, sewed, and either sewed or sewn. American English prefers sewed as past participle: She had sewed the rip neatly. The participial adjective is usually sewn, as in hand-sewn dresses. Compare SOW.
