benefactor, beneficiary (nn.)
 
 
A benefactor is someone who gives help, a patron, especially one who gives money; a beneficiary is the receiver of help, especially someone who is left money or property. Originally a beneficiary was a person in holy orders who held a benefice, an ecclesiastical office with an endowment attached.  1
