However, outdoor relief generally proved cheaper. 4 1725, Sept. 3 Treaty of Hanover among Britain, France, and Prussia. 5 1727, May 19 6 1729, Nov. 9 Treaty of Seville with Spain; restoration of conquests; asiento confirmed. 7 1731, March 16 Treaty of Vienna with the empire. The Ostend East India Company dissolved. 8 1733, March 14 Walpole introduced an excise bill . Led to many demonstrations against new excise, including a procession of sheriffs and merchants (April 11) with a petition against the taxes. 9 1735, June 29 Witchcraft laws repealed . 10 1736 Spitalfields weavers rioted to protest introduction of Irish weavers. The riot was put down by the military. 11 1737 Worcester nailers marched to Birmingham in protest to pursue a dispute with iron merchants. 12
