Secret Treaty of Dover between Charles II of England and Louis XIV. Louis XIV sought to undermine the Triple Alliance and so followed this treaty with another.
Passage of the Rhine. Louis XIV, Turenne, and Condé led 100,000 men in an easy conquest of southern Holland. The province of Holland and the city of Amsterdam were saved by opening the sluices.
