Zera-Yakob centralized the Solomonic Empire and established a fixed capital. He reorganized the church, encouraging its evangelical and teaching role, and he suppressed traditional beliefs. He also strengthened the empire militarily within its borders and repelled the attacks of neighboring Adal. With the end of his rule, the Christian Empire began to wane.
