The first Maccabiah Games (often described as the Jewish Olympics), which have since become the most important events in the Israeli sports calendar.	2

Peak of Jewish immigration to Palestine. In these three years, 166,000 Jews entered Palestine. By 1936, the total Jewish population was approximately 400,000, 30 percent of the general population.	3

Production of Oded the Wanderer, the first Hebrew feature film shot in Palestine.	4
The construction of modern harbor facilities at Haifa was completed.	5

Anti-British rioting by Arabs in Jaffa spread to other towns. British troops quickly put down the protests and occupied several towns.	6

Jewish protests against restrictions on immigration, following the rise of anti-Semitism in Germany and the flight of thousands of Jews.	7
