1929 Admission of the first female students to Cairo University . The first female graduates (there were four) received their diplomas in 1933. 1 May 7 Nile Waters Agreement with the Sudan. The treaty allocated all White Nile water to Egypt and Blue Nile water to the Sudan, allaying the anxieties of Egyptian landowners. 2 Aug. 8 Sir Percy Loraine as the new British high commissioner. 3 Dec. 21 Wafdist victory in national elections.
