Tosti, Sir Francesco Paolo
 
 
(fränchs´k pä´l tô´st) (KEY) , 1846–1916, Italian composer and teacher. Having been court singing teacher in Rome, he went in 1875 to London, where he became singing master (1880) to the royal family and professor (1894) at the Royal Academy of Music. Serenade and Goodbye are the best known of his many songs. He was knighted in 1908.
