Shaoxing
 
 
 Shao-hsing (both: shou´shng´) (KEY) , or Shaohing (shou´hng´) (KEY) , city (1994 est. pop. 205,300), N Zhejiang prov., SE China, on the south shore of Hangzhou Bay. It is a marketing center handling grain, fruit, and oil crops. The most famous export is Shaoxing rice wine. The city is a center of light industry; manufactures include food, textiles, apparel, iron and steel, and machinery.
