Kamina
(käm´nä) (KEY) , city (1984 pop. 171,008), Katanga province, S Congo (Kinshasa). It is an administrative and transportation center. A major military airfield is located there. Kamina was used by the Belgians as a center for interventionist actions in the early months of the Congos independence (1960). It later served as a center for UN operations during the crisis caused by the secession (196063) of Katanga.
