(h´rm) (KEY) . 1 In the Bible, king of Tyre, c.969–936 B.C., a friend of David and Solomon. Solomon and Hiram shared in trade with India and the Mediterranean, and Hiram sent much material for the Temple. 2 In First Kings, artisan in metals from Tyre, sent for by Solomon to work on the ornamentation of the Temple. He appears as Huram in Second Chronicles.
