Haberle, John

(hrl´´) (KEY) , 1856–1933, American painter, b. New Haven, Conn. Noted for his photographically precise still-life paintings, Haberle is often compared in style with William Harnett. He is remembered chiefly for his rigorously detailed paintings of paper scraps and money. Haberle’s art is a celebration of the ordinary.
