(g län´ s) (KEY) , 1925, American fashion designer, b. Philadelphia. His luxurious designs employ the most exacting workmanship and are extremely expensive. His most famous client is Nancy Reagan, wife of former President Ronald Reagan, for whom he designed inaugural gowns of rich fabrics. He is known as a master of ready-to-wear fashions including his look of full, loose dresses and chiffon coats over simple sheaths. He is also noted for the use of silk fabrics. |
