Betsiamites
 
 
(bt´´sämt´) (KEY)  or Bersimis (br´´sm´) (KEY) , river, c.240 mi (390 km) long, rising in the highlands of E Que., Canada, and flowing SE into the St. Lawrence River at Betsiamites. Two hydroelectric plants provide power; Bersimis Dam (1,050,000-kW capacity; completed 1956) impounds Lake Pipmuacan.
